A real search on Ollie: real shops, real prices, real reasons.

How it works

One real search,
start to finish.

Rachel loves cooking, travelling and walking her dog, Loki. Here's how Ollie found her Christmas present in a few minutes.

  1. Tell him about her

A sentence or two is plenty: who she is and what she loves. Ollie ticks off what he's got, and nudges you for anything that would help, like what to avoid.

Ollie's page about Rachel: a sentence about her loving shopping, cooking, travelling, relaxing and walking the dog. Ticks show he knows who she is and what she loves.
  2. He thinks first, then shops

Ollie came up with four kinds of present she'd love, from a chef's knife to a lead for Loki, then went through 93 in-stock gifts from independent shops, all under £50.

Gifts for Rachel, £50 or less: four ideas (a hand-forged chef's knife, a leather travel journal, a personalised dog lead for Loki and a bath and body set), 93 gifts in all, and one already on the shortlist.
  3. He picks the best, and says why

Five picks, each with the reason it suits her. He even suggested a lead personalised with Loki's name.

Ollie's picks for Rachel: a Damascus steel chef knife (£50, Cutlery Nest), a personalised leather dog lead (£36.99, Treat Republic) and a leather journal (£45, paper republic), each with his reason and Keep and Pass buttons.
  4. Keep, pass, then buy

Keep the ones you love and pass on the rest: every choice sharpens his next picks. When you've found the one, buy it straight from the shop.

One gift idea up close: the grand voyageur leather journal, £45 from paper republic, with Ollie's reason, Pass and Keep buttons and View in shop.
  • 4 ideas
  • 93 in-stock gifts checked
  • 5 picks, each with a reason
  • 1 very happy Loki

    Why Ollie

    Search gives you everything.
    Ollie gives you the one.

Search engines and marketplaces show you what's popular, sponsored or cheap. Ollie shows you what suits the person.

    The usual way

    • Type “gift for mum” into a search bar
    • Scroll past the sponsored results
    • Open twenty-seven tabs
    • Read three hundred reviews
    • Panic-buy a candle at 11pm

An evening gone. A so-so present.

    With Ollie

    • Describe Mum in a sentence
    • Ollie thinks about what she'd actually love
    • He checks stock, price and delivery for you
    • You get a few great picks, each with a reason
    • Keep or pass, and he learns

    A few minutes. A present she'll use.

    Picks you can trust

    Good taste, not guesswork.

Ollie follows the same careful steps every time, so you can say yes with confidence.

    He listens first

Ollie starts with the person, not a keyword: what they love, what they're into lately, and what they'd never use.

    Ideas before products

He works out what kind of thing would genuinely delight them, then goes shopping. That's how thoughtful people choose gifts.

    Real, in-stock picks

Everything he suggests is available now, delivers to you and fits the budget you set. No dead ends.

    Every pick explained

Each suggestion comes with the reason it suits them, so you can decide in seconds, not after an hour of reviews.

    He remembers

Pass on something and he learns why. Buy something and he'll never suggest it again next year.

    No paid placements

Nobody pays to appear in Ollie's picks, and shops can't buy their way in. He works for you. Simple as that.

Ooh, I love a good hunt.

    FAQ

    Good questions.

Is Ollie an app? Do I need the App Store?

Ollie is an app, but you don’t need the App Store or Google Play to get him: he installs straight from your browser. Create your free account, then add him to your Home Screen. On an iPhone or iPad, tap Share in Safari, then Add to Home Screen; on Android, tap ⋮ in Chrome, then Install app. He opens full screen like any other app. On a computer, use him in your browser or install him from the address bar. See the steps.

Why isn’t Ollie in the App Store?

Because he doesn’t need to be. Adding an app to your Home Screen from the web is built into Safari and Chrome, and it’s as safe as visiting any website. It also means Ollie works on any phone, tablet or computer with one account, takes up hardly any storage and updates himself, so you’re always on the latest version.

    What is Ollie?

Ollie is a personal shopping assistant powered by AI. Tell him about the people you're buying for and he finds great products from independent shops, explaining why each one would suit them. He's starting with gifts, and will help with the rest of your shopping soon.

    Is Ollie really free?

Yes, to start, and you can keep it free by inviting friends. Every new account gets 100 free credits, with no card and no subscription. That’s enough for Ollie to find you hundreds of products, as each gift search brings back around 100. Invite a friend and you get 100 more credits once they’ve joined and run their first search, for up to 20 friends. If you’d rather not wait, top up from £5; bigger packs come with bonus credits, and credits never expire.

    How do credits work?

Credits pay for the AI that thinks up and picks presents. A gift search usually uses about 25 credits, depending on how much Ollie looks through, and a search that finds nothing to show is free. Credits never expire, and they cover everyone you buy for and every occasion.

How does inviting a friend work?

Share your invite link from the Ollie app. Your friend starts with 100 free credits, like everyone, and as soon as their first gift search finds presents, you get 100 credits too. You can earn credits for up to 20 friends.

Do I buy things through Ollie?

No. When you find the one, Ollie takes you straight to the shop that sells it. You buy from them directly, with their own delivery and returns.

Where do Ollie's products come from?

Ollie searches thousands of independent shops and brands, and only suggests things that are in stock, deliver to you and fit your budget.

Does anyone pay to be recommended?

No. There are no ads or sponsored placements in Ollie's picks, and shops can't pay to be in them, so he works for you.

Which countries does Ollie work in?

The UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and much of Europe. Ollie only suggests products that ship to where you live.

    Is there a subscription?

No. There’s no subscription and nothing to cancel. You only ever pay if you choose to top up your credits, and those are one-off payments.

    Is my information private?

Your lists and notes are private to you. Ollie uses them to find you great products and for nothing else, and we never sell your data.

Let Ollie take the list this year.
